Morpeth Footpaths Society
affiliated to The Ramblers
The Society is a social group of walkers from the town of Morpeth and further afield who meet throughout the year for a regular walking programme, exploring and enjoying the fantastic countryside of Northumberland and at times its surrounding counties.
Our membership covers all age groups, some of our youngest walkers are of school age, right up to the more “senior” members.
The Society was established in 1974, having clocked up more miles and worn out more shoe leather than anyone cares to remember. We offer a wide ranging and varied programme of walks - usually on a Sunday - with distances of 5 to 12 miles, plus the occasional short summer evening walk.
With our 'try it and see' offer, we extend an especially warm welcome to new walkers who may be interested in joining our group. For a nominal fee of £1 (to cover your insurance) you can join us on one of our walks before making a commitment to becoming a paid up member, currently £15 per annum.
No age limit, but sorry, no dogs allowed.
In 2020 we have 18 walks planned - which equates to less than 85p per walk.
Please feel free to browse through our walking programme and if you are interested in joining us for a day out, please contact the programme Organiser.
We look forward to seeing you on a walk.
