INGRAM
Start time: 11.00 am
Distance: 5 miles Duration: 3 hours Start of walk: Please park at the Ingram Mill car park just beyond the metal bridge over the river Breamish. From there you can go through the gate signed 'Ingram Cafe' and walk 2-3 minutes to the start at Northumberland National Parks Visitor Centre. There are toilets and a cafe at the Visitor Centre. PLEASE NOTE: if the Mill car park is full, try the car park at the Visitor Centre, though this should only be used in an emergency as it is essential to the cafe business. How to get there: From Morpeth, drive north on A1 then take A697. A few miles north of Powburn, turn left at sign for Ingram and Northumberland National Park. Notes: This is an upland walk, quite strenuous in places and exposed to the weather but rewarding in terms of views and historical interest. We will finish off in the cafe where there is also an interesting exhibition showing archaeological finds from the walk route. Leader(s): Geraldine Terry |
