Do I need to be able to drive to get to a walk? No. Other members who drive are more than happy to offer lifts to and from walks.
Do I need any specialist equipment to come on a walk? No. Other than good walking boots/shoes, warm clothing a waterproof jacket and a small rucksack for your picnic, that's all you need.
Can children join? Of course, although anyone under the age of 13 would need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Families are most welcome.
How will I know a walk is suitable/unsuitable for me? The walk leader will update our Facebook page with information from their recce of the route with any particular things to be aware of such as steep hill or very muddy!
What happens if a walk is cancelled at short notice? In the rare event that a walk is postponed due to bad weather etc., we will let everyone know by email and our Facebook page.
If I can't make a walk I have said I'm coming on, who do I inform? You can let us know via the Facebook page or by texting the walk leader as we publish their mobile number for group information.
Can I bring my dog? Unfortunately due to safety reasons we do not allow dogs to come on MFS walks
Do I need to be a social media user? Absolutely not, you can keep an eye on things with the website and we update walk information by email also
